Sri Lanka prides of 1,562 kilometers, and probably more than 2,000 kilometers if the coast lines of lagoons, bays, and inlets are added. She also has 16 principle rivers running for over 100 kilometers each adding more inland beaches to enjoy.

West Coast:

​ extends from Negombo in the north to Hikkaduwa in the south densly dotted with some of the finest beach hotels resorts in Nigombo, Kalutara, Beruwala, and Bentota.

  • Ambalangoda - known for devil dancing & mask making
  • Bentota and Induruwa - very populor beach with pleanty of hotels and resorts.
  • Beruwala - 130 kilometers long beach, well known fishing area.
    ​South Coast: ​This is the island in microcosm - gorgeous beaches, colonial townscapes, still fishermen, superb wildlife parks, pleantiful Buddisht shrines and temples, massively supported with luxury hotels and atmospheric colonial era villas.
  • Unawatuna: counted one among top 12 beaches of the world, is a beautiful golden curving beach well protected by a reef. Excellent for diving entwined in legends as well.
  • Mirissa: small, deep, tranquil, rocky beach almost as private beaches. Good for whale watching, deep sea fishing, snorkeling, and bird watching.East Coast: undoubtedly possess the best beaches of Sri Lanka.
  • Arugam Bay - Wide sandy beach, 4th best surfing beach in Southeast Asia and one of the top 10 in the world. Close to Kumana Bird Santuray, Lahugal National Park, Yala National Park, and heritage centres.
  • Batticaloa Beach: combined with Kalkuda, Pasikuda Kalkuda, and Pasikuda offer very tranquil waters and sandy beaches.
